The Dean Markley 2614 Helix Stainless Steel Strings Bass Guitar Medium Light (45-105) are made of stainless steel for a bright and cutting timbre. Helix strings use Dean Markley’s proprietary Hyper-Elliptical Winding process, which compresses the outer wrap wire before winding. This allows for an increased number of wraps across the length of the string, giving the string more mass than a traditionally wound string, without altering its diameter. This process is designed to produce strings that have a smoother feel with a brighter and more resonant tone than other strings of the same gauges. In addition, the Hyper-Elliptical Winding process reduces finger noise and corrosion on the surface of the strings, helping to increase their lifespan to last longer than conventional strings.
